Hi,

Can you tell me, especially those with personal experience. What are the benefits of having feet/foot massages & how does one benefit from them?

If you’ve ever had one yourself did you benefit from them?

Thank you.

Apparently, your foot has many nerve endings relating to different parts of your body. I’m not sure how it works but for instance, if you have a pain in your shoulder, a foot masseur will know which place on your foot to massage to relieve this pain.

Other than the fact that it feels good, it helps strengthen ligaments and muscles in your feet which results in better balance, ability to absorb shock better, gait, faster foot work, running, etc. Research also shown that walking on cobblestones barefoot lowers stress and blood pressure.

I think it depends on the person, someone with poor circulation would benefit from increased circulation, someone with plantar facitis(sp) would benefit from the stretching and relaxing the muscles, and someone with alot of stress could benefit from the relaxation aspect.
